Well, you can use them, but we strongly encourage you not to.
They won't work properly with System 7, they take up a lot of room on your 
hard drive, they take forever to download (thus increasing traffic on the ftp
server) and they just aren't they same quality as our PostScript fonts.

This is a set of Computer Modern bitmap fonts for use with Texturesª

For distribution on floppy disks, these font suitcases have been compressed. 
The installation process for each suitcase is to uncompress the .sit file to
produce each full font suitcase. You use UnStuffIt to unpack the compressed suitcases.


Installation

If you have an earlier version of these fonts already installed in your ÒTeX
fontsÓ folder, you must remove them before beginning this installation procedure.


To uncompress and install the ÒPlain.sitÓ file:

  Double-click the UnStuffIt tool
  Select ÒOpen StuffIt ArchiveÉÓ from the ÒFileÓ menu
  Choose the file ÒPlain.sitÓ from disk #1
  A window will open displaying the contents of the ÒPlain.sitÓ file
  Select (click on) the file ÒPlain fontsÓ from this window
  Click the ÒExtractÉÓ button at the bottom of the window
  Save the extracted file as ÒPlain fontsÓ directly into the ÒTeX fontsÓ folder
    on your hard disk
  Wait for UnStuffIt to extract and uncompress the file (several minutes)

Follow the same procedure to uncompress and install the other font suitcases on
disks 1 and 2.
